G&R Controls is an Independent Field Office for Siemens Industry, Inc. Since 1977, we have sold, installed and serviced building automation and temperature control systems. We also offer mechanical service and factory certified start-up of commercial HVAC equipment. Our offices are located in Sioux Falls and Rapid City South Dakota, and Fargo and Bismarck North Dakota. Education Requirements
- Currently or planning to attend trade school in HVAC or a mechanical field, or seeking a career in HVAC through experience and training.
Duties
- Installation of temperature control, building automation and security systems. This will involve pulling wire and terminating to devices, mounting field panels and energy management components and assisting with system start-up.
- Assist seasoned service staff with maintenance of customer systems.
- Assist warehouse staff with organization and pre-assembly of HVAC and control system components.
- Most work will be done on construction jobsites or occupied customer facilities. Some pre-assembly work will be done in our company warehouse.
- Scheduling will typically be 30-50 hours per week over the summer, with some intermittent work available during the school year.
- When overnight travel is required, company pays travel time and expenses. Employees are home on the weekends.
Skills
- Applicants will gain an understanding of how components of commercial HVAC systems connect and interact, and will gain experience in maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Basic computer skills should include Microsoft Office products, internet and email navigation.
- Applicant must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and clean background.
Physical Requirements
- Use hand tools.
- Able to bend, kneel and work overhead.
- Lift 50+ pounds.
- Navigate up and down ladders.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
We offer competitive pay with potential to move to a full-time position. We provide all tools and safety equipment, and cover the cost of necessary licensing. We cover travel expenses, including per diems.
